Purpose

The Update Step Completion action in Zapier can be used to update a specific student's step completion by either completing it, skipping it, or resetting it. Additionally, when completing a step, a score can be assigned for that step.

Action Parameters

• action: Required. The type of completion action to do. Either complete, skip, or reset.
• Only one of the following is required:
  • user_id: The ID number for the user in Pathwright whose step completion should be updated.
  • user_email: The email address for the user in Pathwright whose step completion should be updated.
• step_source_id: Required. The "source ID" of the step to update the completion for.
  • Find this by visiting the step within the path, then look at the URL. For example, the URL https://grow.pathwright.com/library/intro-to-pathwright-20-2/100762/path/step/63336356/ corresponds to a step with source ID 63336356.
• cohort_id: Optional. If provided, this is the cohort in which the step completion update will occur. If not provided, the first cohort found for this student with the given step will be used.
  • Find this by visiting the path for the cohort, then look at the URL. For example, the URL https://grow.pathwright.com/library/intro-to-pathwright-20-2/100762/path/ corresponds to a cohort with ID 100762.
• Only available when "action" is "complete":
  • assign_points: A points value to assign to the completion, when the update is to "complete" the step. Required if the step requires manual review. If provided, this value must be greater than or equal to the step's minimum passing score, and less than or equal to the total value of points assignable to the step.
